Lo que usted verá a continuación son escenas que fueron tomadas por cada uno de los estudiantes de la nueva biblioteca “El Quijote” en las Lomas de Chahuanil, del distrito de Puente Piedra, Lima,Perú, durante el curso de cine que impartió Obed Arango en el mes de agosto del 2023 

El cortometraje se editó al finalizar cada toma. El taller concluyó con el siguiente pensamiento: “Es más humano y justo cuando muchas visiones en conjunto narran su vivir y su historia que cuando desde una sola mirada se cuenta la vida”

Don Quixote with film camera

What you will see below are scenes that were taken by each of the students of the new “El Quijote” library in Las Lomas de Chahuanil, in the district of Puente Piedra, Lima, Peru, during the film course taught by Obed Arango in the month of August 2023

The short film was edited at the end of each shot. The workshop concluded with the following thought: “It is more human and fair when many visions together narrate their life and their story than when life is told from a single glance.”

El Círculo de Investigaciones Participativas de CCATE (CIPC) comparte su primer podcast que es resultado de dos años de trabajo de investigación del tema “Raíces”. Para esto el grupo uso la técnica de fotovoz en el que el grupo realizo entrevistas a fondo entre sus miembros usando imágenes que apelaran a ellas como inmigrantes, y quienes compartieron acerca de sus pueblos de origen y sobretodo de su memoria. En este ejercicio que además está acompañado de alegría y de dolor, se preguntan ellas si el ejercicio les llevo ¿a desenterrar o a exhumar sus raíces?, ¿hablamos de raíces muertas o de raíces vivas? Les invitamos a que escuchen este primer piloto, avanzamos y abrimos camino, esperamos que este diálogo les lleve a su propia memoria como inmigrante.

To Dig up or Exhume Roots

The CCATE Participatory Research Circle (CIPC) shares its first podcast, which is the result of two years of research work on the topic “Roots.” For this, the group used the photovoice technique in which the group conducted in-depth interviews among its members using images that appealed to them as immigrants, and who shared about their towns of origin and especially their memory. In this exercise, which is also accompanied by joy and pain, they ask themselves if the exercise led them to dig up or exhume their roots? Are we talking about dead roots or living roots? We invite you to listen to this first pilot, we move forward and open the way, we hope that this dialogue takes you to your own memory as an immigrant.

Isabela comparte cómo es que creo su marca y estilo de ropa 19/07 (Diecinueve cero siete), asimismo reflexiona sobre su origen, su identidad, su herencia cultural, su inicio e influencia  en el arte, y cómo uso el tiempo de la pandemia para darle impulso y salida a su sueño. Es un diálogo ameno, juvenil, divertido, que incluye los bloopers y que da un mensaje claro a la juventud de ser fieles y genuinos a sus sueños y vocación.

En Corto

En Corto (In Short) is a podcast produced by Andy BAMF and Pablo in which they interview young artists from the region. In this first installment for REVARTE they present the designer and visual artist Isabela Hoyos, originally from Manizales, Colombia and based in the United States. Isabela shares how she created her clothing brand and style 19/07 (Diecinueve cero siete), she also reflects on her origin, her identity, her cultural heritage, her beginnings and influence in art, and how she used the time of the pandemic to give impulse to her dream. It is an entertaining, youthful, fun dialogue that includes bloopers and gives a clear message to young people to be faithful and genuine to their dreams and vocation.

El maestro Adolfo Peredo Rodríguez es una educador de origen boliviano que radica en el distrito de Puente Piedra en la ciudad de Lima, Perú. Don Adolfo es ingeniero, y en sus más de cuarenta años como inmigrante comparte cómo es que fundó “La aldea científica infantil”. 

Obed Arango tuvo la oportunidad de conocer y de entrevistar al maestro Peredo y junto con David Azzolini, un voluntario originario de Italia que sirve como pasante en El Quijote, asistió a Obed en la visita que ambos hicieron a “La aldea científica Infantil” en la que registraron por 4 horas, y ahora presentan este documental que es un homenaje imperfecto y humilde a una vida dedicada a las nueva generaciones. No se pueden resumir 45 años de labor con la comunidad en 27 minutos.

Adolfo Peredo: An Essential Teacher

Teacher Adolfo Peredo Rodríguez is an educator of Bolivian origin who lives in the district of Puente Piedra in the city of Lima, Peru. Don Adolfo is an engineer, and in his more than forty years as an immigrant, he shares how he founded “The Children’s Scientific Village.”

Obed Arango had the opportunity to meet and interview Maestro Peredo and together with David Azzolini, a volunteer originally from Italy who serves as an intern at Don Quixote, he assisted Obed in the visit they both made to “The Children’s Scientific Village” in the which they recorded for 4 hours, and now they present this documentary that is an imperfect and humble tribute to a life dedicated to the new generations. A life dedicated to serve cannot be summarized in 27 minutes.
